Yes, they most certainly are as bad as everyone says, but I wouldn’t get any other color since black is so much more appealing to me.
I wouldn’t call it a “bad idea,” but swirls and especially dust show up so damn easily.
Just be willing to wash/wax and maintain it regularly and it will be fine..
